Laboratory

Laboratory for Electronic Music is a new space in Truro, Cornwall, dedicated to electronic music, synthesis, sound experimentation and creative learning.

It provides a place for lessons, individual development, workshops and collaboration, bringing together musical, technical and creative approaches to working with sound.

Whether you’re completely new to electronic music or have years of experience, the Laboratory provides a welcoming environment for curiosity, exploration and learning.

The Laboratory is also the home of the Cornwall Youth Noise Orchestra (CYNO), Moogie Wonderland’s flagship electronic music programme for young people, providing a base for rehearsals, creative development and new projects, while continuing to work with partners in other locations across Cornwall.

  • Electronic music lessons for teenagers and adults
  • Taster sessions

Further activities, including opportunities for independent exploration and open sessions, will be announced as the space develops.

Accessibility

Please note that the Laboratory is accessed via steps and is not wheelchair accessible.

We recognise that this creates a significant barrier for some people. The Laboratory is a temporary space that enables activities to take place while we plan for a longer-term home designed with accessibility as a core consideration.

Some activities are also delivered in other venues, including regular sessions in Falmouth. If access to the Laboratory presents a barrier, please get in touch to discuss alternative ways of taking part.

Parking

Two parking spaces are available on site, although these are often occupied. We therefore recommend parking in Truro city centre and walking to the Laboratory, which is approximately 10 minutes from the city centre on foot.

Open Day

We’re holding a free drop-in open day on:

Saturday 5th June
10am–2pm

Come and see the space, try some instruments, find out about lessons and future activities, or simply have a chat about what you’d like to see happen here.

No booking required.
