Come and see Cornwall’s newest experimental musicians at the Cornwall Youth Noise Orchestra Summer Concert 2023!

This exciting event will premiere brand new semi-improvisational compositions created by members of the orchestra in collaboration with the Moogie Wonderland team.

The orchestra will be performing on our ‘noise stations’, which are based on professional instruments used by experimental music pioneers such as Aphex Twin, Kraftwerk, BBC Radiophonic Orchestra, and Suzanne Ciani, and such music still heavily influences music producers making chart hits today. They are a mixture of professional and DIY electronic instruments such as modular synths and turntables, experimental sound art equipment such as microphones attached to objects, and string instruments based on eastern music.

Over the last few years, the project has been championed by The Guardian, BBC Radio 3, Electronic Sound, BBC 6 Music, and Cornwall Live. Moogie Wonderland has been working in partnership with Falmouth University on the project this year, providing opportunities for students to work alongside the orchestra. The Cornwall Youth Noise Orchestra has been made possible thanks to support from Youth Music (with funding from Arts Council England), Rapid Online, and Arts Award.

This is a free all ages event.

Please note that while much of the music will be ambient, there will be some noises which may be unsuitable for people with sensory issues.
